Processing Time
Please allow 2-3 business days for your order to process.
Shipping Providers
We ship with bonded couriers or Canada Post when couriers are unavailable. All shipments include $100 insurance (additional coverage is available upon request). Private & Co. is not responsible for any courier errors.
International Orders & Customs
- By default, a flat $100 shipping fee applies to all international orders. For more shipping options and rates, please contact us.
- Private & Co. is not responsible for any customs fees, import duties, or taxes. Any additional charges are the responsibility of the recipient.
- Customs fees vary by country and cannot be calculated in advance, nor do we have control over those costs.
- Packages may be subject to delays due to customs processing
- International returns must be marked as "Returned Merchandise" to avoid double duties
- We cannot mark packages as gifts or with a lower value to avoid customs fees
- For EU customers: VAT and import duties will be applied according to local regulations
- Refused packages due to customs charges will not be refunded shipping costs
United States Orders & Customs (Updated May 2026)
Due to ongoing changes in U.S. import regulations, all orders shipped from Canada to the United States may be subject to duties, taxes, and brokerage fees upon delivery.
There is no longer a consistent duty-free threshold applied across all shipments. Even lower-value orders may be assessed depending on carrier and customs processing.
All shipments are declared with accurate country of origin (COO), HS codes, and full order value in compliance with U.S. customs requirements.
Please note:
- Duties, taxes, and brokerage fees are determined by U.S. Customs and the carrier, and are not collected by Private & Co.
- These charges are the responsibility of the customer and are not refundable
If an order is refused or returned, original shipping costs, return shipping, and any additional customs or re-import fees will be deducted from any store credit issued - While U.S. customers may see added import costs, many of our products are sourced directly from Japan under favorable Canadian trade conditions. Combined with our pricing and available promotions, orders can still come in lower than comparable U.S. retailers

Return Policy
In-Store Purchases
- Returns accepted within 7 days of purchase, for store credit or exchange only.
- Items must be unworn, unwashed, and in original condition with all tags attached, with original receipt.
- Final sale items cannot be returned.
Online Purchases
- Returns accepted within 7 days of delivery, for store credit or exchange only (upon final inspection once received).
- Items must be unworn, unwashed, and in original condition with all tags attached
- Original packaging must be intact
- Additional return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer
Non-Returnable Items
- All sale items are "Final Sale”
- Items that have been worn, washed, or altered
- Items without original tags
- Items showing signs of wear or use
- Undergarments and accessories
- Exchanged items
Damaged or Incorrect Items
- Contact us within 24 hours if you receive a damaged or incorrect item
- Include photos of the damage or incorrect item in your email and we will arrange for return shipping at our expense upon verification

Cancelling Your Order
Can I cancel my order after placing it?
We get it. Mistakes happen. If your order hasn’t been processed yet, we’ll do our best to catch it in time. Once payment has been processed, a 3% processing fee may apply to cover non-refundable transaction costs on our end.

For qualifying items, we ship CUSMA compliant, meaning no additional duties should apply for US customers. If your item qualifies, you’re all set with no surprise fees.
