Tanuki has received numerous requests for this particular denim over the years. While you may have encountered various iterations of Kakishibu selvedge, they typically tend towards a darker, more brownish hue.

However, Kakishibu dyeing, an ancient technique utilizing persimmon fruit, inherently produces an orange tone rather than brown, as evidenced by the rich saturation of this denim. This method of dye is amazing in its ability to impart a warm undertone ideal for achieving exquisite fading patterns. The orange hues subtly peek through the twill weave of the denim, especially accentuated when cuffing.

Pairing the slubby denim with this unique dyeing process, and adorned with Tanuki's signature blue details, we believe this denim stands as a strong contender for the title of "pair of the year."
