Celebrating 45 years in denim, Studio D’Artisan’s “Ai-Sa” Collection draws inspiration from Japan’s deep connection to nature and the seasons. Using the traditional Kusakizome dyeing method, they’ve crafted a proprietary 15oz denim dyed with natural Sakura tree bark to achieve a soft pink hue. This collection beautifully combines traditional craftsmanship with modern fashion, reflecting the serene beauty of Japan’s landscapes.

Cherry tree bark and branches are used to create a thread dyed in a soft cherry blossom hue. Achieving this delicate colour requires dyeing with the bark just before the cherry blossoms bloom. The subtle, understated cherry blossom tone reflects the refined elegance of nature. The warp thread undergoes a unique process, first being skein-dyed with natural indigo and then layered with sakura dye. This combination results in a beautiful, slightly purplish-blue shade. The denim features a tapered fit, blending traditional craftsmanship with a modern silhouette.
