TCB Jeans takes inspiration from that history, studying American denim and workwear to make garments for everyday life. Founder Hajime Inoue established his sewing factory in Kojima, Okayama, in 2007. The name TCB originally stood for “Taking Care of Business,” reflecting the work of the factory. When the company began making its own jeans, TCB also came to mean “Two Cats Brand,” inspired by Inoue’s two cats.
Rather than making exact replicas, TCB studies vintage jeans and jackets, then draws on certain elements to create its own interpretations. The TCB 20’s Jeans revisit early five-pocket denim, with a high rise, straight leg, suspender buttons, and a cinch back. The TCB 50’s Jeans take inspiration from relaxed mid-century fits, while the TCB S40’s Jeans reference the pared-back construction of wartime denim.
