FULLCOUNT’s 1141VE-2 Seamen’s Trousers bring back a style that had been absent from the brand’s lineup since 2018, drawing on wide-cut U.S. Navy trousers from the 1940s. The silhouette is built around a deep rise and generous leg, giving the trousers the straight, substantial shape associated with vintage naval workwear rather than the slimmer proportions of modern chinos.

The fabric is a 100% cotton black military herringbone twill woven from sturdy 10-count yarn. Herringbone gets its name from the broken chevron pattern visible across the surface, a structure long associated with military uniforms because it combines durability with a softer, more flexible hand than many heavy plain-weave fabrics. FULLCOUNT takes that traditionally Army-associated cloth and applies it to a naval trouser silhouette.

The Vintage Effect treatment is what separates the 1141VE-2 from the standard 1141-2. FULLCOUNT uses ozone fading to remove colour and create the worn, uneven appearance of an older garment, then adds painted stain details to further build the impression of decades of use. Ozone processing requires considerably less water and chemical treatment than many conventional garment-aging methods, and FULLCOUNT has been using the process since around 2017.

Details remain appropriately simple and functional, with roomy front slash pockets and vintage-style urea buttons featuring recessed thread channels. The faded black herringbone, wide leg and intentionally worn finish give these trousers plenty of character from day one, while the cotton fabric will continue to soften and settle with regular wear.

The Vintage Effect finish combines ozone fading with painted stain details to create an already worn-in appearance. Wash cold with similar dark colours and hang dry. Avoid bleach and excessive heat to preserve the fabric, finish and shape.

Fit: Based on 1940s U.S. Navy trousers with a deep rise and generous wide leg. The silhouette is intentionally fuller through the thigh and hem, allowing the herringbone fabric to drape naturally rather than taper closely around the leg.
