The Flat Head - Left Hand Twill "Real Aging" Wide Straight Selvedge Jeans [FN-D111C]

A different direction for The Flat Head, the FN-D111C shifts away from their traditional right-hand twill into left hand twill “Real Aging” denim; designed specifically to soften faster and develop a more pronounced vertical fade pattern.

The fabric is a 14.5oz selvedge denim made from 100% Zimbabwe cotton, woven on vintage shuttle looms. Compared to standard right-hand twill, the left-hand weave runs in the opposite direction, resulting in a smoother initial hand and quicker break-in, while still delivering strong contrast fades over time.

Flat Head’s signature “doshaburi” (downpour) vertical texture is still present here, but the left-hand construction enhances the effect, creating streaky, rain-like fading that develops relatively quickly with wear. 

The fit is a wide straight silhouette with a higher rise and generous room through the thigh and leg. It’s one of Flat Head’s loosest cuts, designed for comfort and drape while still maintaining structure through the fabric.

Finished in a rinsed (one-wash) state, the jeans are pre-shrunk and ready to wear, while retaining the stiffness and long-term aging potential expected from a heavyweight Japanese denim.
