Dehen 1920 - Chore Coat 2.0 Indigo Denim/Fawn Corduroy [JA088-INFN]
Description
The Dehen 1920 Chore Coat 2.0 takes the straightforward utility of the brand’s original Woven Chore Coat and pushes it in a slightly more rugged direction. Developed for Spring 2026, the updated design adds length, more substantial pocket detailing, and traditional workwear hardware while retaining the clean construction and everyday versatility Dehen is known for.
The body and sleeves are cut from substantial 14oz indigo denim woven from 100% cotton. The fabric gives the jacket plenty of structure when new while leaving room for the indigo to soften and develop character through regular wear. Creases, high-wear areas, and the edges of the pockets will gradually become more pronounced, giving the jacket an increasingly personal appearance over time.
Dehen contrasts the indigo body with a 4.5oz fawn corduroy collar. Woven from 100% cotton in an 11-wale construction, the corduroy adds a softer texture and warmer tone against the dark denim without taking away from the jacket’s straightforward workwear character.
The 2.0 design introduces a slightly longer body than Dehen’s original chore coat, making it feel closer to a traditional coverall. A single flap chest pocket and two oversized flap hip pockets provide practical storage, while brass tack buttons reinforce the vintage utility influence.
One of the smaller details is also one of the most interesting. Dehen adds a stylized angled buttonhole designed as an anchor point for a pocket watch, a subtle nod to traditional workwear garments where small functional details were built around the tools and accessories people actually carried.
The jacket remains completely unlined, allowing the substantial 14oz denim to remain the focus while making it easier to layer throughout the year. Open cuffs and a clean open hem keep the construction simple and functional.
Cut and sewn in Portland, Oregon, the Chore Coat 2.0 combines substantial indigo denim, contrasting corduroy, and thoughtful workwear details in a jacket designed to become better the more it is worn.
