Indigofera - Buck 14oz Tapered Gunpowder Black Selvedge Jeans
Description
The Indigofera Buck is the brand’s relaxed tapered fit, built here from one of their most distinctive fabrics, 14oz Gunpowder Black Japanese selvedge denim.
Developed exclusively for Indigofera and woven in Japan by Nihon Menpu Mills, Gunpowder is a black warp, black weft denim with a dye formulation incorporating the same ingredients traditionally associated with gunpowder. The result is an unusually deep black denim with a subtle sheen when new and plenty of potential for character with wear.
Rather than remaining uniformly black, the Gunpowder denim is designed to fade through shades of charcoal and grey, eventually developing higher contrast areas at creases, seams and other points of regular wear. Think of it as the black denim equivalent of a well worn pair of indigo jeans, only with the entire ageing process playing out in greyscale.
At 14oz, the denim has enough weight and structure to feel substantial without moving into true heavyweight territory.
The Buck has a medium to high rise with a comfortable amount of room through the seat and thigh before tapering gradually through the lower leg. The result is an easy wearing tapered fit that still has enough room through the top block to avoid feeling overly slim.
Traditional five pocket construction is finished with a button fly, custom Indigofera donut buttons, copper rivets at key stress points and a half lined rear pocket. An offset rear belt loop and selvedge detailing add a few of the vintage inspired details Indigofera is known for.
Designed in Sweden and sewn in Portugal from custom Japanese selvedge denim, the Buck Gunpowder is a particularly good option for anyone who likes the ageing potential of raw denim but wants something outside the usual indigo rotation.
