Indigofera - Buck Tapered 18oz Shiroyama Rinse Twill Selvedge Jeans

The Indigofera Buck is the brand’s classic tapered fit, built here from one of their most distinctive heavyweight fabrics, 18oz Shiroyama Japanese selvedge denim.

Shiroyama is a substantial 100% cotton denim woven in Japan using a low tension, 3x1 twill construction. The indigo warp is rope dyed, while the white weft uses a noticeably heavier yarn. Woven slowly and at low tension, the difference between the warp and weft creates the rough, uneven surface that gives Shiroyama its distinctive vintage character.

At 18oz, there is some real weight to the fabric, but this version has already been rinsed before sale. The rinse removes much of the initial shrinkage and takes the edge off the denim's stiffness while retaining the dark indigo colour and substantial feel. From there, the rope dyed warp allows the denim to develop increasingly pronounced fades and contrast with wear.

The Buck has a mid to high rise with room through the top block before tapering gradually through the leg. It is a good option for someone who wants the comfort of a higher rise and heavier denim without the wider leg of a traditional straight fit.

Traditional five pocket construction is joined by some thoughtful vintage inspired details, including an offset rear belt loop and selvedge detailing at the watch pocket. A button fly and substantial hardware suit the weight and character of the Shiroyama denim.
