Indigofera - Wyatt 14oz Gunpowder Black Bootcut Selvedge Denim Jeans

The Indigofera Wyatt takes a classic Western bootcut silhouette and builds it from one of the brand’s most distinctive fabrics, 14oz Gunpowder Black Japanese selvedge denim.

Woven in Japan by Nihon Menpu from 100% cotton, Gunpowder is Indigofera’s take on a black denim that can age with the same kind of character normally associated with indigo. The warp is rope dyed to a deep black using a dye recipe that incorporates some of the same raw materials traditionally found in gunpowder.

When new, the denim has a deep, almost pitch black appearance with plenty of structure. As it is worn and washed, the black gradually gives way at creases, seams and high wear areas, developing a range of charcoal and grey tones rather than the blue and white contrast of traditional indigo denim.

The Wyatt is one of Indigofera’s Western inspired fits. It sits high on the waist with a clean, flat front and a relatively straight upper leg. The leg comes in slightly around the knee before opening into a subtle bootcut at the hem. There is enough flare to sit properly over a pair of boots without pushing the silhouette into an exaggerated bell bottom.

Traditional five pocket construction is finished with a button fly, triple stitch detailing across the rear pocket and Indigofera’s Gryphon leather patch.
