A women’s-specific take on the original denim jacket, the SDL-411EW reworks the classic Type 1 silhouette through Studio D’Artisan’s lens, keeping the vintage structure while softening it with an ecru, undyed finish.

The design is based on the first-generation (“Type 1”) denim jacket, featuring hallmark details like a single chest pocket, front pleats, and back cinch; all rooted in early workwear patterns. 

Instead of indigo, this version uses an ecru (natural, undyed) cotton fabric, giving it a cleaner, more understated look while highlighting the texture of the material itself. Like other SDA women’s pieces, it’s typically one washed, meaning it’s pre-shrunk and ready to wear from day one.

The fit is adapted for women; slightly more balanced and less boxy than traditional Type 1 jackets, while still retaining that cropped, workwear-inspired shape. It’s a piece that leans vintage in structure but feels much easier to wear in a modern rotation.
