The TCB 50’s Jeans are the model that started it all for TCB, and remain one of the clearest expressions of the brand’s approach to vintage reproduction denim. Developed in reverence to an original pair of 1950s jeans in TCB’s archive, the pattern, fabric, stitching, thread weights, and construction methods were carefully studied to recreate the character of mid-century American denim as closely as possible.
At the heart of the 50’s is TCB’s custom 13.5oz Japanese selvedge denim, woven from 100% Zimbabwe cotton. Rather than producing a perfectly uniform surface, TCB intentionally recreates the irregular yarn thickness and weaving tension associated with vintage loom-made denim. The result is a fabric with subtle unevenness and texture that becomes increasingly apparent as the jeans are worn.
The denim is particularly notable for how it ages. TCB describes the fading process as beginning with small white points across the surface, which gradually connect through continued wear to produce pronounced vertical fading reminiscent of well-worn vintage denim. Zimbabwe cotton also gives the fabric a comfortable hand that continues to soften and conform to the wearer over time.
The 50’s fit features a mid rise with a relaxed top block and generous room through the thigh, followed by a subtle taper toward the hem. Vintage construction details extend throughout the jeans, including concealed back pocket rivets and a handmade paper patch designed to age alongside the denim. TCB even recreates the varied stitching of its vintage reference, using four different thread colours and five different thread weights throughout the garment.
Finished in a one-wash state and proudly designed and made in Kojima, Japan, the TCB 50’s is a cornerstone of the brand’s collection and an excellent choice for anyone looking for an authentic 1950s-inspired fit with exceptional vintage-style fading potential.

Orders ship within 2–3 business days via courier or Canada Post. All shipments include $100 insurance (additional coverage is available upon request).
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery for store credit or exchange only. Items must be unworn, unwashed, and in original condition with tags attached. Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility.
