The Imogene + Willie Catherine is one of the brand’s most recognizable women’s fits, inspired by a beloved pair of 1950s five pocket jeans and built around a distinctly high waisted, trouser-like silhouette.

Cut with a super high rise, the Catherine sits high at the natural waist before opening into a fuller trouser leg through the thigh and down to the hem. The result feels distinctly different from a conventional straight jean. There is plenty of room through the leg, but the high rise and shaped top block keep the silhouette clean and intentional.

This rigid version is cut from substantial 13.5oz selvedge denim woven from 100% cotton. With no stretch added to the fabric, the denim starts out structured and will gradually soften and conform to the wearer through regular use. The dark indigo surface will also begin to show greater variation as the jeans are worn, washed and broken in.

Construction remains straightforward and traditional with a five pocket layout and zipper fly. The jeans are supplied with a long inseam, leaving plenty of length for a cuff or allowing them to be hemmed to the wearer’s preferred length.

The Catherine is a particularly good option for someone interested in selvedge denim but looking for something outside the traditional men’s inspired straight and tapered fits.
