Big John’s M101J BOLD takes the traditional five-pocket jean and pushes the proportions considerably wider without simply making it oversized. The pattern is built around a deep rise and generous volume through the hips, thighs, knees and hem, creating a broad straight silhouette that lets the denim fall naturally through the leg.

The jeans use Big John’s 14oz 100% cotton selvedge denim, a substantial midweight fabric with enough structure to hold the wide shape while still remaining practical for everyday wear. The denim is sanforized and given a One Wash finish, taking away much of the initial stiffness and allowing the fabric to begin settling around the body from the first wear.

Traditional details include red-line selvedge, a four-button fly with Big John embossed brass buttons, exposed brass rivets and selvedge construction through the fly. A goatskin leather patch finishes the waistband. The deep indigo denim will gradually soften, crease and fade with wear, allowing the generous silhouette to become increasingly personal over time.

The BOLD is intentionally wide from top to bottom, with very little visual taper through the lower leg. That volume gives simple outfits more presence and works especially well with heavyweight tees, sweatshirts, work shirts and shorter jackets. Despite the exaggerated proportions, Big John has kept the pattern balanced so the jeans remain clean rather than shapeless.

Fabric & Care: Made from Big John’s 14oz 100% cotton selvedge denim. The fabric is sanforized and has received a One Wash treatment, so much of the initial shrinkage has already been reduced. Indigo colour loss and transfer are expected with wear and washing. Wash cold with similar dark colours and hang dry. Avoid chlorine bleach and tumble drying.

Fit: The BOLD is Big John’s wide fit, with a deep rise and generous room through the hips, thighs, knees and leg opening. The silhouette falls broadly from the waist with minimal taper, creating a relaxed wide-straight profile. We recommend comparing our garment measurements with a wide-cut pair of jeans you already own before selecting your size.

One washed at the factory. They will not shrink further as long as you wash them in cold water and hang dry.
