The Chore Coat 2.0 is Dehen 1920’s more rugged interpretation of the traditional chore jacket, taking the straightforward utility of their original Woven Chore Coat and giving it a little more structure, length and workwear detailing.

For this version, Dehen uses a substantial 14oz indigo denim across the body and sleeves, paired with a contrasting Fawn corduroy collar. The collar is cut from a lighter 4.5oz, 11-wale cotton corduroy, adding just enough texture and contrast against the dark indigo denim without taking away from the simplicity of the jacket.

The 2.0 pattern was developed with a slightly longer body than Dehen’s original Chore Coat. Pocket flaps and brass tack buttons push the design further into traditional workwear territory, while a stylized angled buttonhole above the chest pocket provides an anchor point for a pocket watch.

Storage is kept practical with a flap chest pocket and two large flap patch pockets at the hips. The jacket is completely unlined, allowing the 14oz denim to remain the focus while making it easier to layer through different seasons. Open cuffs and a clean open hem keep the construction straightforward.

Like much of Dehen’s collection, the Chore Coat 2.0 is cut and sewn at the company’s factory in Portland, Oregon. It is a simple piece of workwear at first glance, but the combination of heavyweight denim, corduroy and thoughtful construction gives it considerably more character in hand.
