FULLCOUNT - Type I 12oz Beige Denim Jacket [2107BE]

The 2107BE takes FULLCOUNT’s classic Type I denim jacket and completely changes its character through a custom beige selvedge denim. The familiar 1930s workwear construction remains, but without the indigo, the texture and irregularity of the denim become the focus.

The fabric is a 12oz selvedge slub denim woven from 100% cotton using different yarn weights for the warp and weft. FULLCOUNT uses #7 yarn for the warp and #10 for the weft, with both sides dyed beige before weaving. Dyeing the weft rather than leaving it natural gives the finished denim considerably more depth than a conventional ecru or natural denim.

The fabric is woven on traditional shuttle looms using FULLCOUNT’s Super Smooth Denim approach. Despite the relatively clean appearance from a distance, the uneven yarn creates subtle variation across the surface and gives the fabric a more handwoven character up close.

Construction follows FULLCOUNT’s 2107 Type I pattern, drawing from early pleated denim blouses that eventually became the blueprint for the modern denim jacket. Two action pleats run vertically down the front, while a single flap chest pocket keeps the design simple. At the back, a metal cinch allows the waist to be adjusted and reinforces the jacket’s early workwear influence.

The jacket is finished with embossed metal buttons and comes One Wash, taking care of the majority of the initial shrinkage while softening the denim enough to wear comfortably from the start.
