Imogene + Willie - Carpenter Pant Striped Indigo

Imogene + Willie’s Carpenter Pant takes the familiar shape of traditional work trousers and gives it a more considered, modern proportion. Cut from a rigid 12oz Japanese striped indigo denim, the fabric has enough structure to hold the wide silhouette when new while gradually softening and developing a more relaxed drape through wear.

The fit is built around a high rise, generous top block and straight wide leg, giving the Carpenter considerably more room than a conventional five-pocket jean without feeling oversized for the sake of it. The wider shape works particularly well with the rigid denim, allowing the fabric to crease, relax and develop naturally instead of collapsing against the leg.

Traditional carpenter details are kept intact, including oversized patch pockets, an adjustable double-button closure, extra-wide fly and triple-needle stitching along both the inseam and outseam. These details come directly from functional workwear, but the cleaner striped indigo fabric gives the pant a more refined feel that can move easily between denim, workwear and everyday trousers.

The indigo stripe gives the fabric plenty of character without being overly loud. As the rigid denim breaks in, the surface should soften and develop creasing and tonal variation around the pockets, thighs, knees and seams, making the pant increasingly personal with wear.

Fabric & Care: Made from 12oz 100% cotton Japanese striped indigo denim. The fabric begins rigid and structured but will soften and develop more drape with wear. Indigo will gradually show creasing and tonal variation in high-contact areas. Wash cold with similar dark colours when necessary and hang dry to help preserve the fabric and fit. Some indigo transfer may occur while the fabric is new.

Fit: High rise with an easy top block and straight wide leg. Imogene + Willie recommends taking your normal size for the intended relaxed silhouette, or sizing down for a more fitted look. We recommend comparing our garment measurements with a similarly high-rise pair of trousers before selecting your size.
