The Willie is Imogene + Willie’s classic high rise straight leg fit, designed to sit above the hips with a clean line through the thigh and knee. It is a straightforward five pocket jean with proportions that feel traditional without being overly wide or restrictive.
This version is built from a 13oz, 100% cotton black selvedge denim sourced from Kuroki Mills in Okayama, Japan. Kuroki is one of Japan’s best known denim manufacturers, and the fabric strikes a useful balance between substance and everyday wearability. At 13oz, it has enough structure to feel like a proper rigid jean without the extended break in associated with significantly heavier denim.
The denim is left rigid, allowing the fabric to begin its life with the wearer rather than arriving with a factory applied wash. As the jeans are worn and washed, the black denim will gradually soften and develop its own character according to how they are worn.
The Willie sits above the hips and runs straight through the thigh and knee, giving it a classic straight leg silhouette.The traditional five pocket construction and a button fly keep the details rooted in classic denim.
The fabric is produced in Japan, with the finished jeans patterned, cut and sewn in the USA.
