The Willie is Imogene + Willie’s classic high rise, straight leg fit, designed to sit above the hips and run cleanly through the thigh and knee. The Eastland takes that familiar silhouette and pairs it with a Japanese selvedge denim that has already been given the beginnings of a natural break in.

This version is built from a 14oz, 100% cotton Japanese selvedge denim with a deep indigo shade. Rather than leaving the fabric rigid, Imogene + Willie applies their Eastland wash to create the look and feel of a jean that has already seen its first stretch of wear.

The wash is intentionally restrained. Light contrast and subtle abrasion give the denim some initial character without pushing it into the heavily distressed territory of a vintage reproduction wash. Imogene + Willie describes it as resembling a jean that is just beginning its life cycle, broken in and comfortable, but with plenty of wear still ahead of it.

That treatment also changes how the denim feels from the start. The Eastland is noticeably softer than a rigid jean, making it a good option for anyone who wants the character of broken in selvedge denim without working through the first few months of stiffness themselves.

The Willie sits above the hips and remains straight through the thigh and knee. Traditional five pocket construction and a button fly keep the design simple.

The denim is produced in Japan, with the finished jeans patterned, cut and sewn in the USA.

Fabric & Care: The Eastland wash is designed to replicate the early stages of naturally worn rigid denim, giving the jeans a softer hand and subtle fading from the beginning. The denim still has plenty of life ahead of it and will continue to develop character with regular wear and washing.

Fit: The Willie sits above the hips and runs straight through the thigh and knee. Imogene + Willie describes the Eastland as true to size. Their wear testing found the jeans started slightly snug before loosening after the first wear and becoming increasingly comfortable with continued use.
