Inception - F-Hole Carabiner Brass Wallet Chain [IPC-02]

The IPC-02 strips the traditional wallet chain down to solid brass, putting the focus on Inception’s original F-Hole carabiner and the way untreated brass develops with use. Designed and made in Japan, it is a substantial piece of hardware built to be worn daily and allowed to age naturally.

The defining detail is the custom F-Hole carabiner. Its openwork design takes inspiration from the distinctive F-shaped sound holes found on violins and other stringed instruments, turning an otherwise functional piece of hardware into something immediately recognizable.

Inception produces the original carabiner using the lost wax casting process. The technique begins with a wax model and allows more complex shapes and greater dimensional accuracy than conventional casting methods, making it particularly well suited to the sculptural shape of the F-Hole design.

The entire chain is constructed from brass with no silver plating or additional surface finish. At the wallet end, Inception uses a brass lever snap hook for a secure but easily removable connection.

Measuring approximately 51cm in overall length, the IPC-02 has enough presence to sit naturally along the hip while remaining practical for everyday wear. The exposed brass will gradually darken and develop patina through handling, friction and exposure, making each chain increasingly individual over time.

Material & Aging: The IPC-02 is made from exposed brass that will naturally change colour with age and use. Expect the bright finish to gradually darken and develop variations in tone as the chain is handled and worn. This natural patina is part of the character of untreated brass and will make each chain increasingly unique.
