Inception - UK Saddle Basket Leather Silver Plated Brass Shackle Key Holder Brown [IPSK-03]

Inception brings together traditional British leather and Japanese craftsmanship, building small leather goods designed to develop more character the longer they are used. The IPSK-03 takes that approach and applies it to a compact shackle key holder made from substantial UK saddle leather and custom brass hardware.

The leather section is made from brown UK saddle leather and finished with a hand stamped basket pattern. The leather is sourced from J&FJ Baker, one of England’s oldest remaining oak bark tanneries, where traditional tanning methods are used to slowly produce exceptionally dense and durable saddle leather.

Wax penetrates deep into the fibres during the leather making process, giving the saddle leather its substantial weight, strength and natural water resistance. The brown colourway also provides plenty of opportunity for the leather to change with use, gradually developing a deeper colour and increased lustre as it is handled.

The hardware is built around Inception’s original horseshoe inspired shackle. The shackle itself is cast from brass before receiving a silver plated finish, combining the weight and strength of brass with the appearance and aging characteristics of silver coloured hardware. A threaded pin allows the shackle to be opened when attaching it to a belt loop, bag or other piece of gear.

Leather & Aging: The UK saddle leather is heavily impregnated with wax during production, creating a dense and durable leather that will continue to evolve with use. Expect the brown leather to deepen in colour and develop additional lustre as it is handled, while the metal hardware will also naturally change in appearance over time.
