Indigofera - Fargo Quarter Vintage 70s Rinsed Denim Jacket

The Fargo Quarter takes Indigofera’s longstanding Fargo jacket and brings the proportions up into a shorter, trucker inspired silhouette. Fuller through the body than the brand’s Copeland jacket, the Quarter finishes around the waistband while maintaining enough room through the chest and sleeves for comfortable layering. This version is built from Indigofera’s Vintage 70s denim, a fabric developed to capture some of the irregularity and character associated with older denim.

The fabric is a substantial 14oz Japanese selvedge denim woven from 100% cotton. Rather than aiming for the clean, uniform surface of modern denim, the Vintage 70s fabric has a slightly uneven character with visible texture throughout the cloth. It gives the jacket a less refined appearance from the beginning and provides a strong foundation for the indigo to continue changing with wear.

Indigofera gives the denim a soaked finish before the jacket reaches you. This initial wet treatment takes some of the rigidity out of the 14oz fabric and begins settling the cloth while leaving plenty of character to develop. With regular wear and washing, the denim will continue to soften, crease and fade, gradually creating lighter areas around the sleeves, pocket openings, seams and other high movement areas.

The Fargo Quarter keeps its workwear influence straightforward. Two chest pockets are joined by two hand warmer pockets, giving the shorter jacket useful storage without overcrowding the front. A contrasting corduroy collar breaks up the indigo denim, while chambray is used to line the cuffs, neck and pocket flaps. Indigofera’s custom brass snap closures and copper rivets add another layer of traditional workwear detailing.

The shorter body is an important part of the Fargo Quarter. It sits around the waistband like a traditional trucker jacket, but the relatively full chest and roomy sleeves keep it from feeling restrictive. That combination works particularly well with higher rise jeans and trousers and still leaves enough room underneath for a heavier shirt, flannel or knit as temperatures drop.

Fabric & Shrinkage: Made from 14oz 100% cotton Japanese selvedge denim. The jacket has already received a soaked finish, taking care of the initial wet treatment and relaxing some of the stiffness of the cloth before wear. The denim will continue to soften, crease and fade with regular use. Wash cold when necessary and hang dry to minimize additional shrinkage and preserve the character of the indigo.

Fit: The Fargo Quarter is the shorter version of Indigofera’s Fargo jacket, finishing around the waistband for proportions closer to a classic trucker jacket. It has a relaxed, relatively full body with roomy sleeves, leaving space for shirts, flannels and lighter knitwear underneath.
