The Gryphon Wings Blanket continues that side of the brand, combining traditional Norwegian wool production with the large scale artwork and symbolism that have made Indigofera’s blankets something more than a conventional piece of homeware.

At the centre of the design is the gryphon, a mythical creature combining the body of a lion with the head and wings of an eagle. The gryphon has appeared repeatedly throughout Indigofera’s artwork and has become something of a spirit animal for the brand. Here, the imagery is associated with strength, courage and vigilance through adversity, giving the blanket a story that goes beyond its graphic impact.

The blanket is woven from 100% Norwegian wool and produced entirely in Norway. Norwegian wool is particularly well suited to a substantial blanket because of its combination of resilience, insulation and natural breathability. The fibres provide plenty of warmth without requiring a synthetic fill, while wool’s ability to manage moisture makes the blanket useful well beyond the coldest months of the year.

Rather than applying the Gryphon Wings artwork as a surface print, the design is created through the woven textile itself. This gives the graphic depth and texture on both sides of the blanket and makes the image an integral part of its construction. At 150 x 200 cm, there is enough scale for the artwork to become a genuine visual feature while still functioning as a practical blanket around the home.

The substantial wool construction is designed for long term use. Wool naturally resists odour and retains its insulating properties even in damp conditions, while the fibres will gradually soften and settle with use. Fabric & Care: Woven from 100% Norwegian wool. Wool is naturally insulating, breathable and resilient, making it particularly well suited to a blanket intended for regular use. The fibres will gradually soften and settle with time while maintaining their natural texture. Follow the attached care instructions for cleaning and avoid conventional machine washing unless specifically directed by the manufacturer.
