Indigofera - Wibaux Blackish Brown Leather Jacket

The Wibaux is Indigofera’s stripped back approach to the classic leather jacket, combining a straightforward zip front silhouette with substantial cowhide and minimal detailing. Rather than leaning heavily into motorcycle styling, the design sits somewhere between vintage workwear and a simple everyday leather jacket, making the leather itself the main focus.

The jacket is constructed from 100% cow leather in Indigofera’s Blackish Brown finish. Underneath the dark surface is a contrasting brown base, commonly referred to as a tea core construction. Unlike leather that maintains a relatively uniform colour as it ages, tea core leather gradually reveals more of the underlying brown wherever the darker surface receives the most abrasion.

That ageing process is a major part of the Wibaux. Creases begin forming through the sleeves and body, while the edges, pocket openings, cuffs and other high wear areas gradually expose warmer brown tones beneath the darker exterior. Instead of trying to keep the jacket looking untouched, the leather is intended to record how it is worn and become increasingly individual over time.

The construction is kept purposefully simple. A branded metal zipper closes the front, while branded snap hardware and riveted details reinforce the jacket’s utilitarian character. Two waist pockets provide everyday storage, and adjustable tabs at the waist allow the shape of the jacket to be brought in slightly depending on how it is worn.

The clean design makes the Wibaux particularly versatile for a leather jacket. There is enough character in the blackish brown cowhide and hardware to make it interesting on its own, but without the belts, asymmetrical closures or extensive hardware associated with a traditional motorcycle jacket. Worn regularly, the combination of substantial cowhide and tea core finish should only make the jacket more personal as the surface softens, creases and reveals the brown beneath.

As the jacket is worn, friction and movement will gradually affect the darker surface and expose warmer brown tones underneath, particularly around seams, edges, cuffs and other high wear areas. This variation is an intended characteristic of the leather. For cleaning or conditioning, use products specifically intended for leather and test them on an inconspicuous area first.

Fit: The Wibaux has a straightforward zip jacket silhouette with room for a shirt or lightweight knit underneath. Adjustable waist tabs allow the lower body to be brought in slightly. Leather will also soften and conform more naturally to the wearer as the jacket breaks in.
