ROTOTO’s R1589 Pile Stripe Marl Crew Socks bring together the comfort of a cushioned outdoor sock with the look of vintage striped sportswear. Built around organic cotton yarn and finished with contrasting stripes, they have enough visual character to stand out with cuffed denim or shorts while remaining practical enough for everyday wear.

The yarn blend is 62% cotton, 27% nylon, 9% polyester and 2% polyurethane. Cotton makes up the majority of the construction for a comfortable feel against the foot, while the combination of synthetic fibres adds durability, stretch and shape retention. The marled appearance gives the base colour additional depth rather than the completely uniform surface of a solid-coloured sock.

ROTOTO gives the R1589 an outdoors-inspired appearance through the use of bold contrasting stripes around the leg. There is a familiar vintage athletic quality to the design, but the marled yarn and heavier texture push it closer to classic hiking and outdoor socks rather than a conventional sports sock.

The most important construction detail is underneath the foot. ROTOTO uses pile knitting across the sole to create a thicker, cushioned surface between the foot and shoe. The loops of yarn provide additional softness underfoot while also improving the sock’s ability to absorb perspiration during extended wear.

That pile construction adds comfort without turning the entire sock into an excessively bulky heavyweight design. ROTOTO rates the R1589 at a medium thickness, giving it enough cushioning for boots and roomier footwear while remaining versatile enough to wear with everyday sneakers and leather shoes.

The combination works particularly well for anyone who spends a lot of time on their feet. The pile sole provides cushioning where it is most useful, while the upper portion remains comfortable and flexible around the ankle and lower leg.

Fabric & Care: Made from 62% cotton, 27% nylon, 9% polyester and 2% polyurethane, with organic cotton yarn forming the foundation of the sock. The sole is pile knitted for additional cushioning and sweat absorption. ROTOTO recommends avoiding tumble drying as heat can cause shrinkage.

Fit: Available in Small, Medium and Large. Small fits approximately 23–25cm, Medium 25–27cm and Large 27–29cm. The stretch yarn allows the sock to comfortably conform to the foot while helping it maintain its shape through repeated wear.
