The S310XX19ozII takes Samurai’s heavyweight denim in a completely different direction from the slimmer and more traditional straight fits the brand is known for. Built around a deep rise and an exceptionally wide straight leg, this is currently the widest silhouette in Samurai’s lineup, giving their signature 19oz denim considerably more room to drape and develop with wear.

The jeans are cut from Samurai’s renowned 19oz Kiwami selvedge denim, one of the fabrics that helped establish the brand’s reputation for heavyweight Japanese denim. The cloth has a firm, rugged hand when new, with the irregular surface and substantial structure you expect from a denim of this weight. Despite the wider silhouette, there is nothing lightweight or soft about the fabric itself. It remains distinctly Samurai.

Kiwami translates roughly to “extreme” or “pinnacle,” an appropriate name for a denim that pushed heavyweight selvedge construction when Samurai originally introduced it. The dense weave and dark indigo face are designed to produce the sharp, high contrast fading Samurai specifically calls out with this fabric. Creases, seams and high wear areas gradually become more pronounced against the darker surrounding indigo, while the wider leg allows the denim to develop differently from a close fitting pair of jeans.

The detailing stays rooted in Samurai’s established denim language. Sunrise buttons are used throughout, while the pocket bags feature the brand’s distinctive “Shogyou Mujou” or impermanence design. A model specific leather patch and flasher complete the jeans, giving the S310XX19ozII its own identity within Samurai’s heavyweight denim lineup.

What really separates this model is the cut. The rise is intentionally deep, with significant room through the thigh and a wide leg that continues down to a generously proportioned hem. There is very little taper to interrupt the silhouette. The result feels closer to vintage wide leg work trousers while retaining the fabric, hardware and construction associated with Samurai’s Japanese denim.

The jeans are delivered One Wash, taking care of the primary initial shrinkage while preserving the rigid, substantial character of the 19oz denim.

Fabric & Shrinkage: Made from Samurai’s heavyweight 19oz Kiwami selvedge denim. The fabric begins with a firm hand and substantial structure and is known for developing pronounced, high contrast fades with wear. These jeans are supplied One Wash, meaning Samurai has already completed the initial wash and the majority of the fabric’s initial shrinkage has been taken out. Some additional movement can still occur with repeated washing and wear.

Fit: Samurai describes the S310XX19ozII as a super wide straight and the widest silhouette currently offered by the brand. It has a deep rise, substantial room through the thigh and a very wide leg continuing through the hem. This is not simply a relaxed version of a standard Samurai straight fit. It is intentionally oversized through the leg and designed to produce a full, wide silhouette.
