Description
A natural take on one of Studio D’Artisan’s core fabrics, the SD-1001EW brings the brand’s GL3 selvedge denim into an undyed, ecru format; letting the texture and weave do all the work.
The fabric is a 15oz original GL3 selvedge denim, woven on vintage Toyoda GL3 shuttle looms, machines known for producing a slower, more irregular weave with pronounced slub and surface variation. This low-efficiency process creates a rugged, uneven texture that feels closer to true vintage denim than modern mass production.
Unlike the indigo version, this model uses a natural (undyed) cotton warp and weft, giving the jeans a clean ecru tone that highlights nep, yarn irregularity, and fabric depth from the start.
The fit follows SDA’s regular straight silhouette, offering a mid-rise with room through the thigh and a clean, balanced leg; easy to wear while staying true to vintage proportions.
Finished in a one wash, the denim is pre-shrunk and ready to wear, while still retaining the long-term character and aging potential expected from GL3 fabric.
