TCB - 30's 14.1oz Denim Jacket

The TCB 30’s Jacket looks back to the point when denim jackets were beginning to become heavier, tougher pieces of everyday workwear.

Built from TCB’s custom 14.1oz denim, this is currently the heaviest denim in the brand’s lineup. TCB developed the fabric specifically to reproduce the stiffer, more substantial character they associate with denim of the 1930s. It has noticeably more body than the lighter fabrics used across much of TCB’s collection and starts out with a firm, rugged hand that will gradually soften and develop with wear.

The jacket itself is TCB’s interpretation of an early Type I denim jacket. The familiar single chest pocket and front pleats keep the construction simple, while the proportions reflect the less fitted workwear silhouettes of the period.

Compared with TCB’s S40’s Jacket, the 30’s has wider armholes and a slightly more relaxed feel through the upper body. TCB describes the overall sizing as similar to the S40’s, but the additional room through the armholes gives the 30’s a noticeably more old school silhouette. It also makes the jacket easier to layer over heavier shirts and sweatshirts.

This version is one washed, taking care of the initial shrinkage and softening some of the stiffness of the 14.1oz denim while leaving the majority of the break in and fading to the wearer.

Like the rest of TCB’s vintage inspired denim, the 30’s Jacket is made in Kojima, Okayama, Japan.

Fabric & Shrinkage: This jacket has already been one washed, taking care of the majority of the initial shrinkage. Some minor additional shrinkage can still occur depending on washing and drying conditions. We recommend washing cold and hanging to dry.
