TCB - Cathead Denim Jacket

The TCB Cat Head Jacket is TCB’s meticulous reproduction of a rare 1930s Duck Head chore coat, blending vintage American workwear history with the brand’s signature attention to fabric development and period-correct construction. After studying an original archival piece, TCB recreated nearly every detail of the garment, from the asymmetrical chest pocket layout and animal-inspired branding to the unique chain-stitched neckband construction rarely seen on modern garments.

The jacket is constructed from TCB’s original denim developed specifically for this project, utilizing a complex four-yarn blend that combines straight, slubby, irregular, and neppy yarns to replicate the texture and visual depth found in authentic pre-war workwear fabrics. Rope dyed indigo warp yarns are paired with grey-dyed weft yarns to create a softer, more muted vintage tone, while the unsinged fabric retains natural surface texture and character. Additional details such as matte-finish buttons, green bar tacks, raglan sleeves, and custom Cat Head branding further reinforce the jacket’s playful yet historically grounded identity.
