The Flat Head’s FN-HTKL-001 pushes heavyweight jersey into territory usually reserved for sweatshirts. Knitted from an exceptional 20oz 100% cotton jersey, it is the heaviest T-shirt fabric The Flat Head has produced. The fabric is made on traditional loop-wheel machinery but knitted as densely as possible, creating a remarkably substantial long sleeve with a crisp, structured hand.

The yarn itself plays a major part in that character. The Flat Head uses air-spun cotton yarn, which receives a stronger twist around the outside while remaining softer and loftier through the centre. The result is a dry, slightly firm surface when new with more softness underneath, allowing the shirt to become increasingly comfortable as the dense fabric settles through wear.

The body is knitted in the round using tubular construction, eliminating side seams and giving the heavyweight jersey a cleaner shape through the torso. At the neck, The Flat Head uses its signature three-needle, one-off stitching with No.20 cotton thread. Working this construction through such dense fabric requires considerably more control than a conventional jersey and reinforces one of the highest-stress areas of the garment.

In White, the extreme density of the knit gives a simple long sleeve considerably more presence. It works as a substantial standalone layer through cooler weather or as a heavy base layer beneath denim jackets and outerwear. The garment is One Wash from the factory, removing the initial shrinkage while leaving the fabric plenty of room to soften and develop with wear.

Fabric & Care: Made from 100% cotton knitted into an exceptionally dense 20oz loop-wheel jersey. Air-spun yarn gives the surface a dry, structured character while retaining softness through the centre of the yarn. The garment has been One Wash, so only minimal additional shrinkage should be expected with proper care. Wash cold with similar colours and hang dry. Avoid excessive heat and tumble drying.

Fit: Cut with a generous, vintage-inspired shape and a somewhat shorter body than many modern long sleeve tees. The dense 20oz fabric holds its silhouette rather than draping closely against the body. We recommend using our garment measurements rather than relying solely on standard letter sizing.
