Knit in Japan from thick 10 count single yarn cotton, The Flat Head Heavyweight Thermal is a substantial take on the classic waffle. Its signature elongated honeycomb structure stretches comfortably across the body for a close, easy fit, and the deep texture of the heavy cotton yarn traps more air than a standard thermal for serious warmth. A two layer knit prevents gaps in the mesh and helps the fabric hold its shape over years of wear. The collar is finished with The Flat Head's three needle stitching technique to resist stretching out, while the main seams are sewn flat on a 1960s Union Special flat seamer for a smooth feel against the skin. Rib knit panels reinforce both shoulders to protect the seams when layering.
