UES MFG.CO.’s 60BW Big Waffle Shirt takes the traditional cotton thermal and exaggerates the waffle structure itself. Thick 100% cotton yarn is knitted on a low gauge machine, creating oversized raised and recessed sections across the fabric. Those deeper cells trap small pockets of warm air close to the body, giving the shirt excellent insulation while retaining the breathability and natural feel of cotton.

Despite its substantial weight and texture, the loose low gauge construction gives the fabric a surprising amount of natural stretch. The knit expands easily with movement rather than feeling rigid or restrictive, making the 60BW comfortable as a thermal layer underneath heavier clothing while still having enough presence to wear on its own through cooler weather.

Because the fabric is considerably thicker than a conventional thermal, UES uses flat seam construction to keep the interior seams low profile and comfortable against the body. The hem is finished with overlock stitching, while the slightly boxy silhouette lets the oversized waffle knit sit naturally rather than pulling tightly across the torso.

The Olive Brown colour gives the highly textured fabric an earthy, workwear-oriented finish that pairs naturally with indigo denim, faded black jeans, khaki and military greens. The irregular surface catches light differently across the raised waffle structure, giving what is otherwise a simple long sleeve thermal considerably more visual depth.

Wash cold with similar colours and hang dry. Avoid excessive heat to preserve the shape and texture of the knit.

Fit: UES cuts the 60BW relatively close through the body so the waffle fabric can function effectively as a thermal layer, while the knit itself provides substantial stretch.
