Indigofera - Ryman 8oz Neppy Denim Western Shirt

The Indigofera Ryman is the brand’s take on the classic Western shirt, built here from a lightweight 8oz Japanese neppy denim that gives a familiar silhouette considerably more texture.

Woven in Japan from 100% cotton, the denim has an irregular, neppy surface with small variations in the indigo yarn visible throughout the fabric. At 8oz, it is substantially lighter than a typical pair of jeans, making it comfortable enough to wear as a shirt while still having the structure and ageing potential of denim.

The fabric has been rinsed before sale, softening the initial hand and taking care of the fabric’s initial shrinkage. From there, the indigo denim will continue to soften, fade and develop more character with regular wear and washing.

The Ryman itself pulls heavily from traditional mid century Western shirts. A pointed Western yoke runs across the shoulders, while two sawtooth chest pockets give the front its distinctive shape. Indigofera branded brass snap buttons are used throughout, adding a warm contrast against the indigo denim.

The fit is comfortable and straightforward, leaving enough room to wear on its own or open over a T-shirt. Combined with the lighter 8oz denim, it makes the Ryman an easy year round piece rather than a heavy denim overshirt.

Designed by Indigofera and cut and sewn in Portugal using Japanese denim.
