Indigofera - Clint 14oz Regular Straight Gunpowder Black Selvedge Denim Jeans

The Indigofera Clint is the brand’s classic regular straight jean, built here from one of their most distinctive fabrics, 14oz Gunpowder Black Japanese selvedge denim.

Woven in Japan by Nihon Menpu from 100% cotton, Gunpowder is Indigofera’s answer to black denim that actually gets more interesting with age. The yarn is sulphur dyed to a deep black using a distinctive dye recipe associated with the Gunpowder name.

Unlike black denim designed to hold a uniform colour, Gunpowder is meant to change. Regular wear and washing gradually pull the black back through charcoal and grey, allowing creases, seams and high wear areas to become increasingly visible. The result is a greyscale ageing process that shares much of the character of a well worn pair of indigo jeans.

The 14oz denim has enough weight and structure to feel substantial without moving into heavyweight territory. This version is sanforized but left unwashed, so you get the crisp hand and dark colour of raw denim from the beginning while keeping first wash shrinkage relatively limited.

The Clint is one of Indigofera’s original fits and has been part of the collection since the brand’s early years. It has a medium rise with comfortable room through the seat and thigh before falling into a classic straight leg. There is no aggressive taper, making it an easy everyday fit that works particularly well with boots and heavier footwear.

Traditional five pocket construction is finished with a button fly, custom Indigofera hardware, copper rivets and a leather rear patch.
