Indigofera - Clint 18oz Regular Straight Shiroyama Rinse Selvedge Denim Jeans

The Indigofera Clint is one of the brand’s original and most enduring fits, built here from their substantial 18oz Shiroyama Japanese selvedge denim.

Woven in Japan by Nihon Menpu from 100% cotton, Shiroyama is a heavyweight 3x1 selvedge denim with a rope dyed indigo warp. The fabric is woven slowly and at low tension on traditional looms, creating a rough, uneven surface with considerably more texture than a tightly woven modern denim.

At 18oz, there is some real weight to the Shiroyama fabric, but this version has already been rinsed before sale. The rinse takes some of the initial stiffness out of the denim and addresses the majority of its initial shrinkage while retaining the deep indigo colour and substantial feel of the fabric.

From there, Shiroyama is all about what happens with wear. The rope dyed indigo gradually gives way at creases, seams and high wear areas, while the uneven surface of the denim helps create greater variation in the way the fabric ages.

The Clint is Indigofera’s classic regular straight fit. It sits at a comfortable mid rise with room through the seat and thigh before falling into a straight leg from the knee down. There is no aggressive taper and no exaggerated width, just a traditional straight silhouette that works particularly well with heavier denim.

Construction follows a classic five pocket jean with a button fly, copper rivets, iron buttons and Indigofera’s leather rear patch.

Designed in Sweden and made in Portugal from 18oz Japanese selvedge denim.

Rinsed at the factory and pre shrunk. Minimal further shrinkage with a cold wash and hang dry.
