FULLCOUNT’s 2052VE-2 Shawl Collar Coverall is rooted in 1940s U.S. Navy workwear, using the simple, practical construction originally worn for shipboard and utility work. The defining shawl collar gives it a softer shape than a conventional chore coat, while the shorter body and relaxed cut keep the proportions distinctly vintage.

The fabric is 100% cotton military herringbone twill woven from substantial 10-count yarn. Herringbone is identified by its broken chevron weave, a construction long used in military clothing for its combination of durability, flexibility and texture. In black, that surface becomes especially visible as the fabric catches light across the alternating weave direction.

FULLCOUNT’s Vintage Effect treatment gives the jacket the appearance of a piece that has already spent years in service. Rather than a flat, uniform black, the finish creates softened colour and uneven wear throughout the seams, edges and high-contact areas. The result feels convincingly broken in from the start while still leaving the cotton plenty of room to continue softening and changing with use.

The front is finished with removable change buttons engraved with an anchor motif, reproducing a practical detail found on 1940s naval workwear. The body is relaxed and relatively cropped, while the sleeves use very little taper to preserve freedom of movement. Worn over a T-shirt, knit or sweatshirt, it sits somewhere between a work jacket and traditional naval utility layer.

Fabric & Care: Made from 100% cotton military herringbone twill woven from substantial 10-count yarn. The Vintage Effect finish gives the black fabric an intentionally aged appearance with softened colour and surface variation from the beginning. Wash cold with similar dark colours and hang dry. Avoid bleach and excessive heat to preserve the fabric, finish and shape.

Fit: Cut with a relaxed body and relatively cropped vintage-inspired length. The sleeves have very little taper, allowing plenty of movement and enough room to layer comfortably underneath. We recommend comparing our garment measurements with a similarly relaxed work jacket before selecting your size.
